Destiny Interview

Hi this is Captain Pash, and as most of you know I recently joined the Stargate Destiny crew. Well, I convinced my Boss Geoff Hill to do an interview with me, and we decided it would be the whloe crew minus me for obivous reasons.

CP: Okay, this one if for you Geoff. Are there any plans for a Season 2?

Geoff: Yes, I can say with more certainty now than I could've near the beginning of the series, that there are plans for a season two. We've already begun getting some plans laid for episodes and ideas in the next season, and right now, they're looking great. We'll definitely be getting more into the characters in this season, and we'll see some very interesting developments in the Orion Galaxy as well, many of which will be playing right off of the first episode of the season, which some of you may have already speculated is called "Alliances, Part Two". And hey, if we don't do
a season two, fans will never know how we resolve the cliffhanger at the end of season one. And I've been reassured by a couple members of my crew that it is quite the cliffhanger.

CP: Esquin, you are the highest rated Destiny writer can you give me a hint as to what you have planned for us the next half of the season?

Esquin: he second half of the season has two very dark episodes from me, hopefully i'll be able to fit in some action as well but my main focus is going to be on building the atmosphere we've been developing through the season

CP: Elitle Anbuis Guard you have hinted at a change for General Barrows what might that be?

EAG: Now that would be telling wouldn't it. You'll have to read "Lonely Echoes" to find out. Basically what I wanted to do was give Barrows (and another character, but that's a secret) lots and lots of developement. You'll find out about his past, his presence on the ship - And his change when "Lonely Echoes" is released.

CP: Geoff back to you, what do you have in store for us at the end of this season?

Geoff: Believe it or not, the idea for the finale has remained virtually unchanged since the conception of the series a long while back. Of course the ideas have been influenced by things in episodes that have already happened, and of course there have been details that have changed, but I've always had an idea like the one for "Alliances" in mind for the series. I will say that a number of questions that will be asked in the last half of season one will be answered in 1x20. Also, prepare yourselves to see a completely new way of looking at the Orion galaxy's power structure.
It will change drastically in "Alliances", which is why we're getting such good ideas for season two. You can also expect my personal favorite a confrontation of galactic porportions in the Alliances 2-part

CP: Esquin, how are you going to handle the pessure of writing at the level you did before?

Esquin: I think i'll manage it well, 1x06 was a let down for me and I hope that my latter episodes will be up to maybe even beyond the caliber of Behemoth

CP: While I have heard the Barrows is getting killed off in an episode, what is with that?

EAG: Well again, you'll have to read "Wings of a Butterfly" to find out about it. Speculation says that the episode will be an Alternate Universe episode - and well, you can kill lots of people of people in those sort of episodes.

CP: Geoff, most of Destiny's episodes have been dark are you planning to keep them that way?

Geoff: Well, I know that some of them have been dark, or at least darker than most, and we've realized this. We can't have a completely gloomy series with bad things going on all the time, so we have decided to do one or two nicer, lighter episodes, near the end of this season, just before the last two episodes pick up.

CP: So, how has everyone reacted to the new member of the crew?

Geoff: Regarding Harry, our new writer, I've seen samples of his work and I was excited getting him onboard. I think it's interesting that we share a writer with another virtual series (Stargate: Genesis), and it's a first in Stargate Virtual Series land. I really like the episodes he'll be writing in the first season, including "Unsung Heroes", the idea for which he pitched.

Esquin:[I] havn't seen his writing yet but I look foward to another writer on the team

EAG: I'm excited to have another writer. Means less work for us *laughs*. I haven't actually read his samples, but I've read his work on "What's In A Name" and it's pretty good.

CP: Thanks for the compliments guys, I was wondering Geoff, can you give me any hints on what is to come with Season 2?

Geoff: Well, if you've checked out the episode listings, you'll know that we're leaving you on a cliffhangar between seasons one and two, with "Alliances, Part Two" airing as episode 2x01. A lot that happens in this episode will influence events for the rest of the season. For any Tenyris fans out there, we've been throwing around a small arc that takes place on Talloran, and we've also been looking at
a couple of standalones. I quote Alex Rubit when I say that it seems like season one is just a practice run for season two, because even with the ideas we have now, I think the show is going to get exponentially better in season two. But hey, I'll leave that to the fans

CP: When is this Hiatus planned to end?

Geoff: *Laughs* When are you going to have 1x12 done?

CP: Soon. What will you be doing to help the Destiny fans who can't live with out it over these comming weeks?

Geoff: We have at least one other "Making of" featurette planned, and if I can find the time to get around to it, we'll be doing a rerelase of Providence. Because we can.

CP: Well, this is for the whole crew any final remarks?

Geoff: no *laughs* ok umm... Thanks to all the fans who have stuck with us thus far, and I promise, the wait for new episodes won't be too much longer. Until next time then.

Esquin: Hmmmm

EAG: Keep reading, keep commenting and enjoy!

Well, that was an interview with the crew of Stargate Destiny.

Pash @ 24 May 2006 10:57 pm
